Athleticism that is in perfect harmony with ride comfort. With the Ultimate AL 9.0 ErgoSpeed we have raised the subject of comfort onto an entirely new level because equally as important as vertical flexibility are the bike’s damping characteristics, which are delivered by parts that have a direct influence on rider comfort. On the Ultimate AL 9.0 ES we have therefore gone for 25mm wide tyres for comfortable damping and low rolling resistance, Canyon Ergospeed gel handlebar tape to absorb vibration, a Selle Italia Race Saddle and the brand new seat post VCLS Post 2.0.
The new carbon seat post impresses with a revolutionary approach to comfort, function and appearance right across the board. The 20mm of travel and optimum compression action guarantee the best possible absorption of shocks – and all this at a weight of just 220g and 100% maintenance free! This relieves pressure on your postural muscles, saves energy and prevents a premature over-acidification of the body on longer tours. 100% comfort for 100% ride fun!

MAXIMUS SEATTUBE

One One Four SLX
The tapered head tube in combination with the tapered steerer tube allow the load to be spread more evenly. This translates into more safety without weight penalty. Large diameters at the fork crown provide better load transfer and reduce the notch effects.
VCLS Technology
The VCLS Stays (Vertical Comfort, Lateral Stiffness) located at the transition of seat tube, top tube and seat stays, are able to absorb the vibrations and lessen the strain on the muscles. This gain in comfort is reinforced by the newly developed Canyon VCLS Post. A Carbon layup with particularly flexible basalt fibres provides a completely new riding experience.
i-Lock headset system
By rendering conventional tube drilling and clamping cones superfluous, the i-Lock headset system protects the carbon steerer from mechanical stress and damages. We were able to save weight thanks to the thin section bearing at the top and the deeply pressed-in, oversized 1 1/2 inch angular contact ball bearing at the bottom guarantees the maximum load rating of the system.
Maximus Seattube
The increasing width of the cross-section of the patented Maximus seat tube increases the lateral stiffness of the frame in the bottom bracket area by 30% compared to a conventional, round seat tube.
