If you love riding XC but can’t quite decide between a hardtail or full suspension, we at Canyon would like to encourage you to take one of each, of course! But if you can only buy one or the other, and you are facing lots of rough trails with some seriously difficult downhill sections, then adding the Lux CF 8.0 Race would be a great option since it offers effective full suspension but also the luxury of agile handling and nippy acceleration. A lot of the handling and acceleration attributes come as a result of the lightweight carbon frame and its aggressive race-oriented geometry. For upfront suspension, the Fox Performance Elite 32 Step Cast has been included with 100 mm travel and remote LocOut so that you can firm it up for those climbing sections. The FlexLink rear triangle works well with the Fox Float Performance Elite Remote rear suspension which offers 100 mm of travel that is fine tuned to follow every curve and gully so that your traction is never in doubt, and you are not being bounced around like a ping pong ball on a rough descent. Turning to the Shimano Deore XT for your drivetrain, you can enjoy the smooth and reliable shifting guaranteed by the Shadow Plus rear derailleur and the Rapidfire Plus System used for the Deore XT shift levers. This system will give you the confidence to try those steepest bits of a climb since you’ll always have the sort of gears you’ll need for the most varied terrains. Mavic Crossmax Light Race Tune wheels will keep you rolling reliably with Schwalbe 2.25 inch tires. The Lux CF 8.0 Race will be the XC race-ready fully to get you through your toughest events and your most fun training days.
