Occasionally it may be difficult to correctly seat the tyre bead on the rim when it is fully inflated. If the bead is not seated properly it won’t run true on the rim leading to lumps or indentations on the tyre. You can try these steps to seat the tyre.
Pump up the tyre to the maximum recommended pressure, which can be found on the sidewall of the tyre. You can also use lubricant to make fitting the tyre easier. When you use lubricant, ensure that it has evaporated completely before riding otherwise the tyre may slip on the rim.
Another option is to seat the tyre by hand at a lower pressure. Partially inflate the tyre and move it until the rim line sits exactly parallel to the rim around the entire circumference. Then pump up the tyre to the recommended pressure.Bild 1
Check that the tyre sits correctly on the rim after you have pumped it up to the recommended pressure.
WARNING Only cycle on tyres that have the air pressure specified by the rim and tyre manufacturer.
You can find these figures in the relevant manufacturers' manuals, printed on the components themselves or here in the Tech Support Centre.
